Due to the increasing number of devices with digital outputs like effect processors, synthesizers and recording equipment, a shortage of inputs at digital mixing desks is the resulting problem. At this point SMART MERGE comes in and helps to expand the number of available digital inputs in efficient ways. The resulting signal is avilable as 24Bits AES/EBU format and can be synchronized to Word Clock- or Word Clock x 256- (= Super Clock for ProTools™). Thus a fast and simply integration in professional studios is possible. If no Word Clock is available, the reference can be extracted from the digital inputs. Unique to the SMART MERGE is to process highest digital input levels without any manual leveling! The powerful 32bits-floating-point processing offers loss-free mixing without pre-attenuation of the input signals to secure the highest sound quality, whereas the output signal is automatically limited to a max. level of -0.5dBFs. This offers to the user a totally uncomplicated way of digital mixing without wasting time for level observing. The built-in digital routing matrix enables easy monitoring of the input channels without affecting the mix signal. For this an adjustble headphone terminal with a high-quality 24bits DA converter is available at the front panel. Also every input can be routed separately to the master output, e.g. for monitoring on the main speackers or patching digital sources to one input of a mixing desk. SMART MERGE is ideal for expanding effect returns and input channels of digital mixing desks. Due to its fully automated operation it helps to save the user's time during every mixing session.
